CLEARING
CLEARING
When Kala, pottery artist, and I were talking about creating this clay piece, I asked her to “leave me something to fight with.” I love having a problem to solve, and this one was a real puzzle. Two things I love: the leather “lines” that span the frame to connect the fiber groupings & the open spaces inside that remind me of a clearing in a forest where the light breaks through. I envision the future owner of this piece making it theirs by painting the wall just behind it so it shines through the negative space.
